Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is featured in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign video, which was launched jointly by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI). Titled “It Takes One Day,” the campaign aims to connect cricket fans worldwide to the nine emotions, known as ‘Navarasa,’ commonly experienced during a cricket match.
These emotions include anguish, bravery, glory, joy, passion, power, pride, respect, and wonder. The video showcases historic moments from previous Men’s Cricket World Cup tournaments and highlights the rollercoaster journey of emotions experienced by both players and fans during a single day of cricket.

The campaign’s CEO, Geoff Allardice, expressed excitement for the World Cup’s commencement in October, stating that the campaign celebrates One Day International cricket and captures the shared experience of emotions between fans and players. The involvement of Shah Rukh Khan and a lineup of renowned cricketers like JP Duminy, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jonty Rhodes, and Jemimah Rodrigues aims to deepen the connection with fans in India and captivate attention worldwide. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah emphasized the significance of the ODI format, promising an event that celebrates cricketing excellence, cultural diversity, and the unifying spirit of the game, providing unforgettable experiences for fans and giving rise to a new generation of cricketing heroes. The Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to begin on October 5 and conclude on November 19.
